Dr. Angie D. Cartwright is an award-winning speaker, counselor, scholar, and advocate. She
earned a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice, Master of Arts in counseling, and a Ph.D. in
Counselor Education and Supervision, all from Sam Houston State University. Her expertise is
centered on underrepresented groups, mental health counseling, supervision, and inclusion. Dr.
Cartwright has worked with individuals, corporations, and universities by sharing her expertise
on cultural competence and cultural humility. In addition to her success receiving multiple
awards and honors she has earned funding exceeding 3million dollars to impact underserved
communities. She is a former President the Texas Association for Counselor Education and
Supervision and the International Association of Addiction and Offender Counseling. She has
been recognized internationally, nationally, and locally for her research and service to the
counseling profession. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (Texas), Licensed
Sex Offender Treatment Provider Supervisor (Texas), and a National Certified Counselor.
